Nocturnal

An invite via Kurungabaa to the opening for Peter Solness’ new show ‘Nocturnal’, which is being held and exhibited at Customs House in Sydney.

The show is composed of large 1 metre sized light boxes set in a darkened area of Customs House library (down at Circular Quay) and it’s made to look a bit like a nocturnal exhibition at a zoo.  It runs for 3 months.

There is also a multimedia show that shows Peter working at night in the field with my torches to create these images.

Peter has told us that the show also features the world premiere of a new alter-ego  called ‘Illumo Man’. He’s apparently quite an extraordinary action hero who pulses with lights from head to toe and eve better… he is also amphibious! His mission is to find forgotten dark places and seek to introduce a little light and magic into them.

Intriguing.

If you’re keen, then make sure you RSVP (details on the invite). Would someone please go on my behalf? I’d go myself, but I live on the stupid north coast!

Oh, and make mine a champagne, thanks.

Aahh, the stupid north coast. I suppose if you live there then you saw the stellar performance of ‘Everything’s F*%#d’ by The Dirt Three @The Great Northern. I first saw Warren Ellis playing with The Black-eyed Susans. Resplendent in football guernsey and spitting like a madman (Rasputin on crack), he was a sight for sore ears.

I can’t go to the opening for you, but will definitely go at some point – looks amazing.

I dont think the Nth Coast is that stupid Bec. Specially when you score a head high sunset shift at Wategoes . . .maybe its just a case of you cant have it all . . .

  3. Oliver says:

I’ll be there. Cheers for the heads up Bec :-)

  4. Jim says:

How long since it’s been head high at Watego’s chez?

  5. Rebecca says:

A qualifier – I LOVE the north coast. Most of the time.

Also, Wategos isn’t about how big it is, it’s about how freaking beautiful it is!
